both are good. but whey is great post workout or in the morning. it is absorbed the fastest by the body.
there was some evidence saying the soy had some estrogen effects or something along those lines but other research indicates that its good to incorporate it into the diet when trying to build mass. I would suggest having whey protein shakes post workout.
Having soy occassionally is fine too. Eat plenty of food protein sources like steak, chicken, peanut butter etc. Carbs are important for energy and to replace glycogen strores in teh muscles as well.
You should start to see results soon :) As long as you are pushing yourself at the gym and lifting with good form. Dont overtrain though. If you go that often to the gym be sure to split up your muscle groups so you hit each a max of 2x per week.

Soy protein increases estrogen production and can also alter your thyroid gland. My husband used to be a prize body builder and he never used steroids. He achieved great results with nutrition. I remember him staying away from soy. I will ask him when he gets home and post what is best later this evening. Now that he is older in his 40’s he uses egg whites as a protein and gets it in powder. When he was in his teens and twenties it was something else. Get back later.

I talked to my husband. At your age the whey protein would be good. You need to boost your calorie intake. If you can’t do it with food then supplement your diet with two high protein low fat shakes. Hope this helps.
