building muscle
ClumsyClumsy:] asked:

I heard you can’t spot reduce , you can tone a specfic body part. does that mean building muscle there? but i also heard that fat doesn’t turn into muscle… so if you build muscle in an area, won’t the fat just cover it up anyways?

Toning a body part is having muscle there but at the same time having no fat covering it. You can work out every day and have super big abs lets say, but if it’s not toned, and covered with a lot of fat, those abs will not show.

toning doesnt mean building muscles. toned body parts mean muscles are more defined which doesnt neccessarily mean there bigger

toning actually means to resculpt the fat there using heat induced through some form of cardio. Some extent of muscle is built at some body organs in the proces of shedding excess fat and thats fine, because its lean muscle(in addition to a good calorie shifted portion controlled diet of course) and it will gradually thin down the layer of fat as long as you make yourself comtted to workout often and eat healthy all life long.Remember, its not about losing fat or attaining a healthy low body weight that may matter, but how long you actually maintain yourself there since losing weight is always comparatively easy!Good luck

no you can not tone part of a muscle. increasing muscle tone is the exact same thing as increasing definition which requires the loss of body fat.

fat does not turn into muscle. fat cells are adipocytes and muscle cells are myocytes they are two completely different cell structures and do not convert from one to the other.
