Selatson M asked:

I dont like taking artificial supplements because its not known if they do more harm long term than short term benefits. Like creatine for example, it helps to retain water in muscles thats why they look bigger but not actual muscles growth.

Im a vegan i.e. no meat, no dairy.

Anyone knows natural supplements to help build muscles?

I would suggest that you eat, or ingest, a fair amount of protein immediately after you workout. This will give your muscles the protein they need to start the repair process after your workout. Protein after workouts has always worked best for me. I don’t know how you feel about eating fish, but it’s a great source. I have mixed feelings with regards to soy protein, as I’ve read that soy products that are processed in the U.S. actually inhibit the body’s intake of protein. Good luck

Protein has been known as the most important factor, for muscle building. Since you are a vegeterian and do not want to get any supplements i would suggest soy milk (idk if you’ll want that) but Beans, Tofu, Lentils,(rich in fiber too =) and other Legumes grains, including bread and pasta also Nuts and Seeds do have high protein in them also pasta and bread contain carbs which are also essential for bodybuilding. Nuts contain some fat in them but i’m sure you can burn it off with proper excercise. Also have you considered protein shakes? or do you want natural foods only?
also a footnote: i don’t use creatine either (personal reasons) but there has been NO long term damage on users (it has been on the market since 1992)

WHOO!!! Another Veg, rock on! :P okay, with that said, see if you can find a Soy protein supplement. Protein and zinc combined is a great mucle-building combo (it actually helps produce Testosterone, which is why it’s great for muscle building). Most of that combo comes from meat, but if you get about 150g of protein a day (fairly easy to do with soy) and take zinc supplements, you should start to see results within a couple weeks. It’s all natural, too, so it’ll be cheaper just to supplement as part of your daily meals.

But soy is also the second highest source of Phytoestrogen, so you have to balance out your testosterone-inducing foods as well (zinc, proteins, cabbage, broccoli, legumes) if you’re male, otherwise your muscle production won’t be nearly as visible (because estrogen more balances the strengthening all over, not on targeted areas like if a man were to bench press every day).
