what are the best muscle building excersises for upper body with free weights?

i just started working out recently (within last 2 months) and i was just wandering what were the best upperbody workouts for building muscle fast, also how many days should i work out before having a rest day? what kinds of food are the best for muscle growth and things like that any info you have would be great . thank you

What type of exercises should I do to lose fat and tone instead of building muscle?

I’m trying to lose a bit more weight and tone my arms, legs, and mid section before my wedding and I’m not sure what type of exercises I should be doing to help tone and trim instead of gaining weight and bulk by adding muscle.

I’m trying to build muscle/mass and i know i have to eat a lot which mean i will gain weight but i plan to lose it all later on. So should i be eating a lot or carbs or proteins? What should i eat before and after a workout? I’m on a 1,700 calorie diet.
So then how come A LOT!!! of people say eat more carbs?

This is my diet im following to build muscle and shape up:
Breakfast:
porridge oats with soy milk, 1 portion of chopped fruit, 1 tablespoon of seed butter and 2 egg whites
1 multi vitamin tablet
1 glucosimine tablet
1 fish oil capsule
Snack:
Tin of mackeral/sadrines/salmon
1 banana
Lunch:
Mixed vegtables and a tin of Mackeral/sardines
or
Sardines/mackeral/tuna wrap with salad (wholemeal wrap)
Snack:
Tin of mackeral/sardines
1 medium carrot
1 medium Celery Stick
Dinner:
Vegtables and meat (chicken, lamb, offal) and maybye a portion of basmati rice
Before Bed:
Cottage cheese/quark
Im also going to drink 1.5 liters of water throughout the day
I am also doing weights 3 times a week and martial arts 3 times a week. I do cardio as well to keep my fitness up

How can I get thinner thighs without building muscle ?

I’am 5′7 so I have pretty long leggs , my calves are thin but I would like my thighs to be thinner with out building muscle , Is that possible ? ppplllzzz help , thankzzz oh , and I don’t know if this matters but I’am a girl ….

I heard you can’t spot reduce , you can tone a specfic body part. does that mean building muscle there? but i also heard that fat doesn’t turn into muscle… so if you build muscle in an area, won’t the fat just cover it up anyways?

The past couple weeks, I’ve been running almost everyday for about 30 minutes and though i am seeing some pleasant results, there are also things i want to avoid– such as building up too much muscle (especially in my thighs). How can exercise to slim down without bulking up?
